Tree Rat #4

This is actually number 5, but I'm only posting confirmed kills.  Got a good solid pumphouse shot on another just a few minutes before I nailed this fella, but he made it up a tree before expiring. I'll know for sure in a day or so when the crows show up, at which point I'll shoot them, too.  As for this guy, he was posted up around 12 yards away, sort of wandering around in little circles, digging for his misplaced nut stash. I got the glass on him and waited for him to turn around and be still. Had to bark at him to get his attention and get him to face the right direction for a shot. He was very obliging, and gave me this perfect fusebox shot, right between the eye and ear. No running off for this nutter! He dropped like a stone, did a short death dance and that was all she wrote. Good quick kill, but those fusebox shots are bloody.

Good shooting and nice pics.  Good use of that call to get him to present a better shot.
