http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1319733535/Modified+Daisy+35----no%2C+really
found this at the 54 forum and was thinking about trying it considering it would be a great project for a garage shooter
the gun smiths around here kinda not so good so ill have to find someone to cut and crown the barrell but shouldn t be a big deal
any thoughts ?? these guns are readily availible to me locally for $ 35 so if the project goes south back to stock we will go
looks like a fairly simple cheapie airgun project no match winner by any means but when its raining outside this winter you wont be wearing out those high dollar springers for 10 yd shooting lol

so the same amount of money you can just buy the dasiy 880 an have a rifled barrel an more power. But if what it for a project it would be a good one. I like the dasiy triggers a little better then the crosmans heavier pull but not as much creep. If you get a good 880 they shoot well out to 25 yd,s. an the daisy might too.

I always thought the cheap prices of the 35, 880 and 901 would lead to more people experimenting with them. Especially when Daisy will let people order parts directly. Something I wanted to try with the Daisy powerlines is cutting down the straw-barrel 1.5 inches, adding a washer to stabilize and straighten it, which would then leave some space from the end of the straw-barrel crown and the front sight. Since these rifles are already quiet, I assume that space for the air to expand would make then near silent.
I also wish something like the Muzzle Mack Delrin Barrel Stabilizer was made for the Daisy rifles, from what I have read they do need it.
Can the valve body and barrel of the Daisy 22SG/22X still be ordered direct from Daisy? Modding a 35 to .22 might be more worth the effort to mod, rather than just making a smaller 880. Are there any power mods for the 35?

Daisy's pumpers aren't as well built as Crosman's. Even the cheap Crosman 760 has a real metal valve in it (similar to a 1377 valve). Daisy's have a lot more plastic in them. Can't build up too much pressure or they'll crack.

I mounted a daisy 5889 rear peep on my 901 fun shooter with open sights. Something different then just shooting with scope. 5889 works perfect on the 901 but didn,t work on the 22sg. I think the 901 is a great pumper super easy to pump an good vel,s an accuraccy.
