Chrony and accuracy results before depinging the Rainstorm

Decided that I was going to deping the Rainstorm today per Johnny Quest (Randall) instructions. Since I had just aired the Rainstorm up it would have been a waste to just dry fired or release all the air so I decided to pass some shots over the chrony and shoot some targets. Prior to today I was never really certain how fast the Rainstorm was shooting. I knew she was a powerhouse but I never realized to what extent until today. I was shooting only JSB Monsters which weigh in at 25.4 grains and I warmed my sweet girl up with ten shots just to make sure she was on target and ready to go. For those of you that have not seen Paul Capello’s review of this gun he advertised 70 shots before his POI began to fall. So my testing begins at shots 11-20. The gun fills to 200 BAR which is 2900 psi and I used the on board gauge to keep track of my air from then on.
Here are the significant numbers for shots 11-20 (all numbers are in feet per second):
Low: 775 High: 792 Average: 784 Extreme spread: 17 Standard deviation: 5
The average there gave me 34.7 FPE which is not too bad but I knew the Rainstorm was capable of more. I was just below 200 BAR after the first ten shots and these ten took me down to 175 BAR.
Shots 21-30:
Low: 790 High: 817 Average: 801 E.S: 26 S.D: 9
That average gave me 36 FPE and since that high of 817 was on the last shot I was beginning to see where the bell curve was going, but I was still not sure of where the Rainstorm would peak. Those ten shots took the pressure down to 150 BAR, so it was evident that I was using about 25 BAR per ten shots or so.
Shots 31-40:
Low: 821 High: 840 Average: 831 E.S: 18.5 S.D: 5.7
The FPE for those ten shots was 39. Now that is more like it. I was definitely happy with the results of that string in terms of power. The air was down to about 125 BAR now, which is about when I would refill but I figured that since I needed to drain the air out to install the depinger that I would just keep on shooting.
Shots 41-50:
Low: 791 High: 828 Average: 811 E.S: 37.2 S.D: 12
That strings average gave me 37 FPE. The on board pressure gauge was hovering at what looked to be about 80-90 BAR.
Shots 51-60:
Low: 720 High: 782 Average: 751 E.S: 62 S.D: 20
That average gave me just under 32 FPE and the POI had not yet begun to drop. I was down to 50 BAR at this point and figured that I could get a few more shots out of the Rainstorm before she would quit so I loaded up one more mag.
Shots: 61-70:
Low: 614 High: 713 Average: 667 E.S: 99.5 S.D: 32
That strings average gave 25.1 FPE. There was one flyer which may have been some clipping on the shroud cap or may have been the pressure but the 6th shot ended up about 2 inches below the rest of the group. Other than that flyer POI was still consistent. Obviously though the extreme spread indicates just how quickly the Rainstorm began to lost power at this point. The gauge read about 25 BAR and I dry fired the gun empty within 13 shots.
My best grouping came on shots 51-60 which is not very telling because I was probably just more focused at that point rather than at the beginning when I was trying to squeeze shots off while my neighbors weren’t watching. I also have not quite gotten the trigger to my liking yet. Its release point is where I want it but the release weight is heavier than I would like it. I will keep working with it to try and improve it or just wear it in more. The pictures below are each of the ten shot groups with the exception of my first ten shots and the last ten shots because I used the same card for those since I ran out of targets.
I would like to again thank Randall AKA Johnny Quest for his help with the depinger. It is in now and it is quite a difference in noise level. Before I did this the ping was about the only thing that would give this gun away in terms of noise. The pellet hitting its target has always been louder than the gun itself but now the gun is virtually silent and the impact of the pellet muffles any noise the gun makes. Randall also brought to my attention an issue with the shroud end cap that may be a little too small because there are some lead marks on it from pellets clipping it. I will drill that out and see if it helps accuracy to a noticeable extent.

Yes it is
...and maxed out at 50 FPE.
But I tell you for average, what 35-36 FPE ?...60 good shots is real, real good, that tell you that the Rainstorm can be a Powerfull .22 but can be a high shot count too, and your's isn't even regulated,....give credit to Evanix this is a good gun that can cover a wide spectrum of needs indeed

Tyler, I'm glad you got it done.. I told ya it would make a huge difference... You really need ta drill out that end cap ta 5/16 to stop the clippin tho. it will perform so much better..
I took mine to a buddies house that has some space and streched it out ta 40 yards, granted i was drinkin peppermint snops and drinkin beer, I was still able ta hold a 1" group off of a pillow..

The groupings were at 25 yards. Manny I really do give evanix a lot of credit because other than some minor kinks that are easily fixed the guns are top notch. Best combination of power and accuracy in a fairly inexpensive package.

Tyler,i was trying the 25.4 gr JSB monster last night and just like you said ,each 10 shoots represent about 25 bars on the rainstorm gauge.Accuracy was still there at 50 bars.
Like Manny said:people have to give more credits to evanix.
The raintorm is just AWESOME.....

Great info Tyler! Your gun is shooting fairly consistently throughout. I would probably fill it to around 180 bar though, or where shot 20-21 starts. That is where your "power shots" start. I would avoid those first 20 shots in the 700's and save some air. I bet with the 28.4gr Eun Jins you will be at 40+fpe, but not sure how accurate they would be. They shouldn't be bad at all though. My Condor .22 likes them at "closer ranges" like 30yds.
