Strange thing happened with me and my Lynx today. I had the lynx set up to shoot 900 fps with JSB 15.9's. Today I poped out the chronograph after a few days of not using it and strangely it was shooting in the upper 930's with the same pellet. I also tried to replicate the 1050 high fps number that I was able to get in earlier testing and was unable to. I also tried to tuen the power adjustment screw fully CCW and I got a minimum velocity of about 790 with 15.9's. This seems a little strange and it makes me wonder if i'm adjusting it wrong?

I am guessing that temperature may affect the performance some, but I would want to test that myself.

I did, FINALLY, get my rifle today. Giving it the quick once-over, I was able to see more of what you were talking about in your review, and I will, of course, do my own. I do not have any 'paper thin' wood on my stock. There are parts that are brought in pretty tight, but I am not terribly worried about breaking it. I see what you are saying, and I might want to suggest that they build out another eighth of an inch.

I like the balance and the feel, and the guy they design these for must be shaped a lot like me, because I find them a perfect fit. Over-all the gun looks outstanding.

The lever is not as smooth as it might be, but I am not experiencing snap-back or damage to the bluing. The instructions specifically say to be sure to oil that area... Have you done so?

One thing I do wish is that there were some way to remove the bottle easily for filling. Of course I am able to pump it up, but on the way back from the office, I wanted to get the bottle filled to save some time, and I found that I had to remove the bottle for filling at the sporting goods store. I didn't think I had tools with me for that, as it requires displacing the stock. I did see the hex wrenches in the box afterward, and I think what I need to remove the bottle is actually there.

In the next several days I hope to follow up with my own review on power, accuracy, loudness and feel. So far I like that trigger a lot. I will probably go with somewhat heavier pellets as is my preference. but I'm much more excited now that it is in my hands!

Got mine today too, last minute 6:20. trigger is super light(like) will adjust to try to get 1st stage working(no takeup- long travel then 4 ounce(guessing)- super nice stock- did quick chrony test to adjust- make sure and cock first before adjusting and loosen lock screw- mounted scope and more tomorrow- great balance for a heavier rifle( comparable to Marauder- weight-wise) few shots I could make showed no more than 2 fps. variation-Noice level fine(quieter than my Condor with El Silencio) so reg. works great.More tomorrow-time permitting

Richard - The part of your stock around the bottle does no taper to a fine edge? Granted it's not "paper thin" but it does taper to a width that allows for flexing of the wood if a little pressure is applied with the thumb.

Also, your side lever does not snap open and closed? Mine seems to have spring tension on it when opening and closing, but not in the middle. With it fully closed take your index finger and pull it away from the breech without giving it support from behind, it doesn't snap open? Then cock it and push it forward from only behind, it wont snap shut and hit the breech?

I look forward to your review Richard along with everyone else's.

I received my Lynx from the dealer on Yesterday.  I have no Chrony but was preset and tested at 29/30 fpe with 21gram marlins.

I am totally happy with the rifle.  My other PCP's are Air Arms S510 and Marauder .25.  Both one hole shooters at 15yds(My basement shooting range).   No dings are scratches on the metal or stock.  The first stage of the trigger is long, but adjustable. No problem, I can still feel the second and release point.  This rifle is quiet pretty quiet in it's stock form.  I was making preparations on how to make it quiet, before receiving it, Now that I have it, I don't thinks its necessary.  Only tested it with JSB 18.1 so far.  They are grouping oversized one holes(I have not cleaned the barrel).  One thing I will say,  Cocking takes a little effort compared to the AA S510.  The last 1/4" pull is noticeable.  I wonder is this because of the Power adjustment spring????????? Right now I have a Wally world Center Point mounted.  I will be ordering a Vector sf Scope thru Richard at Airscopes.  I plan to test Jsb 15.9, H&N 21.14 and Poly mag Preds.  For groups only at the present power setting.  All shooting off a bullsbag rest.

I want to add that the test showing that I got a high of 1050 fps with the Lynx was false. My chrony seemed to be having problems which I didn't notice until today. The strange jump in fps that I reported on earlier was due to my chrony and not the rifle. Battery on my Chrony was bad - noticed it when it started saying that my regulated Marauder was shooting 1100 fps, lol.

I got a chance to test a few pellets for groups this evening. JSB 18.1 &15.9, H&N barracuda Match 21.14(.51 &.52),  H&N Trophy 14.66 and Polymag Predators 16gr.  I shot each group 5 shots.  For each group I filled the rifle to 200 bar.  The JSB pellets and Preds grouped the best.  Either could be chosen pellet.  The H&N pellets did not group well.  The 18.1 and 15.9 had similar POI.  The rifle was sited in with JSB 18.1.  The Preds POI was slightly higher.

After going over the gun again today, I did notice the small nick that has occurred because of side lever pivot joint.  Nothing I couldn't live with.

I'm a modder at heart. I put together an entire custom Marauder bullpup with little more than a variable speed drill, a jig saw, and a few household items. When it comes to innovative ideas I often have them when least expected. Today while I was working with my Lynx I had one of these ideas. I come here to present you with a VERY easy, effective, and functional method of giving your new Lynx magazine fed capabilities!

I was bummed when I heard that the Lynx's would not come with magazines, and even more unhappy when I found out that the magazines would not be released until late june or july. Magazines for me are necessary - I hunt with my rifles and quick follow up shots are sometimes needed. Today I found out a great little mod you can do to give your Lynx it's multishot capabilities back.

One word: MARAUDER MAGAZINES. They fit almost perfectly - but not quite enough to stay snug. Because the barrel does not protrude behind the brass chamber the Marauder mag has no barrel to "click" into (this is how Mrod Mags are held on in Mrods). However, with a variable speed drill and about 15 minutes time you can easily make this work.

Step one:
remove the single shot adapter by unscrewing the little hex screw and pulling out the bar. Put this bar and the screw aside as we will need it in a later step. Put the single shot adapter somewhere safe as we no longer need it.

Step two:
Notice how there is a ball detent on the brass chamber (the gold part of the breech) - this ball will be used to "click" in the Marauder magazine. For this to work we must measure it out (Calipers work best!) and place the appropriate hole in the Mrod mag. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Notice the little crater I drilled next to the center stock hole (it's upper right in relation):

Step three:
In my case the ball did not apply sufficient hold to keep the magazine completely still. This is what I did. Take the bar and put it in the opposite side (put the bar in the left side and screw it in). Now put the Marauder magazine in - it will hit the bar and will not be able to go all the way in. What we are going to do is drill out a groove so that the bar can grasp the side of the magazine and hold it. Once again - pictures say a thousand words so here we go: Notice the horizontal groove. This fits the bar inside. Make sure to SLOWLY deepen it. This groove has to be the perfect depth so that the magazine exit hole matches up with the hole of the barrel. Deepen until it's perfect.

**I placed one layer of electrical tape on the bottom and the back of the magazine so that it would fit more snugly - make sure not to cover up the holes!

Well, you're all done. Your magazine can now be loaded and used in the Lynx. The magazine will self index every time the rifle is cocked. The best part is that you can still use it on your Marauder because we barely had to alter it. From the (little) testing that i've done my Mrod Modded Mag works perfectly and does not affect the accuracy of the Lynx.

GOOD LUCK. Post if you have any suggestions, comments, or need help! Tony.

Yea. The if you already have a .22 Marauder then you're all set. You can still use the modded mags in the marauder without problem. However, if you don't already have a marauder and/or .22 mags then you'll have to get some if you want to do this mod. But I believe they're only $12? Sure beats the expected $50 for one of Cometa's proprietary mags that wont be out until july!

The JSB pellets and Preds grouped the best.  Either could be chosen pellet. The 18.1 and 15.9 had similar POI.  The rifle was sited in with JSB 18.1.  The Preds POI was slightly higher.

I noticed the exact same thing. Preds shot higher than my 15.9g JSB's. I have some 18.1g JSB's on order to arrive friday. Hopefully they shoot as well as well as the lighter ones - and having the same POI would be a HUGE plus.

Hey Tony....let me send you my Lynx, mags, you do the trigger, and FPE, I'll wait for the return and I don't have to micro or tune...what do you think?   LOL  Naw, I know the fun is the tinkering, and the sharing of info.

LOL. That would take all the fun out of it for you! The best part of getting a new rifle is getting to know it, understanding how and why it works, and becoming comfortable with it! Tuning a rifle really isn't too hard - you only need two things: a chronograph and an open mind. The first to give you the numbers and the second to help generate innovative ideas!

Got to finally shoot mine today. QUIET, powerful, accurate... I actually LIKE that trigger and do not find it unpredictable at all. It is a trigger of the best kind as I don't think about it... I hold on the target and squeeze. The worst part about the gun is that I can't use a magmount. I only have low dovetail rings, and I wanted to put my Sightron on the gun because it focuses short and looks slick. I ended up sawing a one piece mount in half!! maybe a strange solution, but it worked, and I have plenty of clearance.

I hope I can get out with the chrony tomorrow and do some power adjustment -- and see where I am. It is quieter than my TF79... I didn't expect that. The target I shoot was a little louder though ;-)

Hope to have my full review in a few days.
