Hi y'all,
Anyone here know the size of the probe o-ring? mine went south before I could measure it.

Felt brave and upgraded my trigger, got rid of that Long-a** first-stage, also shimmed the breach with a gamo pellet tin,now that breach slides like it should. finally that tin came in handy for something...LOL

Changed my mind! Went out with it yesterday and it shot 1-2" groups at 100 yards! Beats my Volquartzen 10/22!!

Hi fella's...a new forum member.

I just spoke to Steve at Pamona Air Guns and he has two (2) of the Lynx V's in stock, sitting in a corner.  He is not actively trying to sell them and has no plans to carry any future Lynx rifles.  He indicated his distributor disappeared on him, and he couldn't find anyone to service the gun in the U.S.

Anyway, perhaps that has changed, if so, please update the forum with individuals that might be distributors and repairmen for the Cometa.  That would help a lot.

Both Lynx's are .22 caliber and no magazines.  He indicated he can upgrade the triggers for $65, and for another $80 he can mill a baffle for the shroud.  Here's the catch....he says he has to sell these new in box Lynx "as is" because he does not know of anyone who repairs them or honors their warranty in the U.S.  He will sell them as they sit for $600 per each. (note: this includes the updated seal work already done.)

It's a good deal for someone.  Steve is an honest and upfront guy from whom I'm bought pcp's in the past.  So you can get a quieter, updated trigger, no magazines included, Lynx for $745 shipped.  OR...you get the Lynx, no warranty, updated seals, for $600 per ea.  There's plenty of info here to do the mods and magazines yourself.  Although for $80 a custom milled baffle for that shroud might be a good investment for someone needing quiet.

I was interested, but I haven't found enough info to ensure me Cometa has really dedicated itself to bringing these guns to the U.S, and offer warranty and repair support.  That's a serious concern for me.  Comments on this are invited.

So, there's my hello, and a lead to a really good deal on a updated, modded, Lynx.

Hope I didn't step on any toes by relating my experience on the phone today, but it just isn't right not to pass on a good deal like this if someone is going to buy a Lynx anyway.

Regards,

Hepotter

Word is that they are actively looking to change their USA distribution, and that announcements may be pending. This is second- or third-hand from the SHOT show reports, but seems credible. They were reportedly there in person, not to exhibit, but to interview replacement distributors/dealers.

Scroll down this post from the show for Cometa rumors: http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1327109670/1327485032/Shot+show+pics+IV

Hi Peoples across the pond,
My name is Rob, I am an English guy i have lived in Spain for 19 yrs, I shoot full bore pistol comp with the Guardia civil and the Police local shooting teams,

I have recently after a break of 20 yrs got back into the springer's , in my youth and time in the military, i always had a rabbit dropper in the cupbard, German HW,70, 80, 35 blah baa, I have a problem locating such weapons in Spain as it a closed shop here, and GAMO is the way (selling their own breads,)  never (nunca!) been happy with them very unpredictable, much like the women, so i started research on the cometa range, to cut the long story short, In a two week period i purchased two cometa fusion stars, 5.5 (sorry 0.22 for you guys ) and a 4.5 (.177) , very impressed from the word go  ;D

I have decided to go for a lynx v10, as i was very impressed with the no BS , well explained and very well documented layman info i got from you guys, so thanks for making up my mind for me, (got any ideas how i can convince my wife)

I see you may be having a few probs guys with parts, I am aware from speaking to my gun shop here that the C.E.O of cometa is very accometadating (that's not funny really is it) and i am planing a trip in the next couple of months to go and meet him,  :o
I will find the availability of spare parts and maybe even communicate with their design chaps and see if its possible to get things to you,
I have  taken on board the fact you have dealer problems this is sad because i have been converted from the German guns i used to like so much to a brand i think is comparable, COMETA MADE IN SPAIN (My wife made in Germany)

Keep up the good work guys, excellent info and if you are still having probs with the 'O' rings i can get some to you if you need. :)

I am still waiting on Cometa to get the importer deal set up here.  I have been following this rifle and hoping the early growing pains are cured now and a PLAN for sales and warranty service is in the works.   I surely like the blue stock and the first batch imported here had none of them I was so  :(......

Please ask whats going on for the US market

They also have them in Black now...

I had some problems with the mag in terms of pellet fit, took it apart cleaned up the edges and it works like a charm, take note that the little brass thingy will pop out and some crazy glue is needed to keep it in place, at least was the case with mine.

StraightShooters has the Lynx V10 in .22 only.  Wood stock.  They have a nice, positive review of it too.

I haven't read this entire thread so I apologize if I'm not helping with this info.

Perry, the gist of what Tom, I and others are saying is Cometa has no distributor in the states. That does not give a buyer that warm and fuzzy feeling to plunk down money.

Ah, ok.  Gotcha, Dave.

Thanks.  I guess it takes more than someone selling here in the US.  And I agree; I wouldn't want to have to fear parts distribution irregularities.

Thanks, and sorry I wasn't being helpful there.  It sure is a tempting rifle.
